A DELICIOUS feast was held at Marco Polo Plaza Cebu as Café Marco’s iconic culinary journey, Sugbusog, celebrated its 10th year last Jan. 10 with a declaration: Padayon ang kaon!
On offer were classic Cebuano favorites such as humba, balbacua, different kinds of barbecue, seafood and street food and many more. Marco Polo’s culinary consultant, Ms. Jessica Avila, who has always been hands on with the delicious food prepared by the Marco Polo chefs, celebrated with the rest of the Marco Polo team for Sugbusog’s 10th year.
Sugbusog is a one-stop destination to experience Cebu’s festivity with its rich culture and scrumptious Cebuano cuisine. During the launch, Marco Polo also showcased antique Sto. Niño collections, while in the middle of the lobby displayed a replica of the Magellan’s Cross. They also had street vendors — also known as the Marco Polo staff — who gave typical treats that are sold at the Basilica Minore del Santo Niño, such as peanuts, popcorn, empanadas and even balloons.
A display of local specialty food items were also for sale at the Sugbusog Store located at the Lobby Shop. Prepared at the Café Marco kitchen, these goodies were perfect pasalubongs to loved ones.
Padayon and Kaon! showcased some fantastic Cebuano eats that would definitely take you home.
