Choose Chinese

PEOPLE often ask me where to eat: usually a new place with good food, something new to try, something unique. Sometimes the best places to go to are the places that have been making great food for over a decade already – whose reputation has been built by the consistency and reliability of the great food and quality service they provide.

I am talking about Tin Gow at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino. I’m sure a lot will agree with me when I say that they are one of the very best restaurants in our city with timeless classics like their Tin Gow Homemade Seafood Bean Curd in a hotpot. Just the sound of its name already makes my mouth water.

Their delicious dim sum that is a favorite of many is as trusty as my mom’s cooking, always tastes as expected every time I eat it!

In this particular lunch, I have tried for the first time the Prawn Salad with Fruits. It was absolutely divine with a side of watermelons and sweet Cebu mangoes. We also ordered the Deep Fried Pork with Sweet and Sour Sauce, very crispy and very thin slices of pork. We also had their Yang Chow Fried Rice, their best-selling fried rice dish.

My mom ordered the Sizzling Beef in Oyster Sauce which was served on a hot sizzling plate right in front on our table. It was the most tender, the most delicious beef in oyster sauce ever! Make sure to try this next time you come.

And of course, since this was also a belated birthday lunch for me, we made sure to order their unique Birthday Noodles with Eggs and we did not regret it. It was a very tasty noodle dish with strips of chicken, mushroom, and red egg. Very good!

I always choose Chinese on celebrations and it’s always such a joy to dine in a restaurant that never fails to exceed your expectations. Compliments to Chef Low who has been with the hotel since the beginning and who continues to prepare delicious, hearty Chinese dishes to its patrons, old and new until today. And thanks to Arnel Aparis of the Waterfront for the invitation.
