One of the speakers was Victor Kintanar, a well-known and multi-awarded photojournalist, who discussed Visual Literacy in Photography including the ethics of taking pictures. He said that mobile phones are now becoming necessary tools in journalism and may soon become mainstream in capturing images.

Respected fashion photographer, Adobe-certified expert and Sun.Star Weekend columnist Albert Pedrosa also gave a passionate, informative lecture on the significance of light as a basic tool in fashion photography. Pedrosa emphasized that phoneographers should also act as directors and pep-talk masters so models can deliver what is expected of them. Conceptualization is the key to fashion photography, he said.

Among the activities lined up by the group a phoneography contest in collaboration with a mall operator, a digital phoneography exhibit, and a book project.

With a steady flow of phoneography enthusiasts joining since the group was formed in 2014, Phoneography Cebu has posted in their group page hundreds of photos captured with their mobile phones. Among its members are professional photographers and phoneography enthusiasts from various fields.
