With with the support of the Department of Science and Technology-Information and Communications Technology Office (DOST-ICTO), Cherry Mobile and Globe Telecom, Upgrade Philippines encourages Filipinos to improve their lives and their communities by simply upgrading to a smartphone. The national movement aims to empower the Philippine nation to embrace and enjoy the benefits of mobile technology at its utmost capacity.

Today, the Philippines has 115 million mobile subscriptions, 32 million active mobile Internet users, and 36 million mobile social users. Going mobile is at every Filipino’s forefront and this change must be adapted to the modern Filipino lifestyle.

It is Upgrade Philippines’ aim to have more Filipinos enjoy going on mobile and experience it through acquiring a smartphone.

The number of Smartphone users has exceptionally grown to 47 percent in 2014. With this growth in demand, affordable smartphones will become available for the public.

Upgrade Philippines aims to have one million pledges, and in two months, movement organizers will be rolling out community projects. One of their plans involves giving free public Internet access to barangays.
