Cut & Style fashion show bigger, sharper the second time around
THE much anticipated fashion fiesta only gets bigger and better every year. Now on its second run, Islands Souvenirs’ Cut & Style 2015 introduced the personal styles of siblings Liz and Laureen, Uy as well as showcased the collection of Cebu’s very own, Cary Santiago. All were featured in a fashion show held last Jan. 16 at the SM Northwing Atrium.
The theme was focused on Aztec expressionism, each piece embellished with dreamcatchers, galaxy dyes and colorful feathers. The show, of course, was a parade of colours, opened by the stylish Uy siblings and culminated with Cary Santiago’s works.
The first line-up “She Dreams” included designs by ladies from the local social scene: Anne Geidt, Gabrielle Baljak, Nicole Bryna Li, Jennifer Sarmiento, Jasmin Sarmiento, Gillian Uang, Alyssa Dacal and Annette Osmeña. They were then followed by the recently crowned Miss Cebu 2015 Wynonah Buot, and her court Genefe Navilon, Aivy Castro, Lucena Magdadaro and Domenic Reynes. Models worked the runway for the “Aztec Allure” segment.
Adorable kids then added color and fun to the event for “The Kids are Alright” tandems that featured parent-child tandems Tanya Go with Ty and Vy, Kate Anzani with Azzurra, Ambra and Alessia, Yano Perdices with Renzo and Kalina, Elaine Lo with Juliana, Mikaela, and Clarrise, Elise Demiar with Lucas and Lana, Golda Ouano with Harlow and Shiloh, and Tasha Dixon with Alistair, Miles and Sienna.
Men’s fashion was also highlighted in “About the Boys” and ramped by Cebuano personalities Doyzkie Beunaviaje, Kiko Kintanar, Josh Alipe, David Cua, Marvin Rono, Mikel Alazas, Joshua Sinclair, Jose Piero Longa and Manuel Biermann.
Cut & Style met couture in Cary Santiago’s works aptly called “Dreamcatcher World,” wrapping up the show for a spectacular finale. (Angelica Fernandez, USJ-R Mass Comm Intern)
