Waterfront Mactan thanks international volunteers

Waterfront Mactan’s department heads and sales and marketing team with Wing Commander Pendlebury of the Royal Australian Air Force, Nathan Klenner of HKL Logistics, Major Michael Davis of the Australian Army and Navy, Sherif Georges of WFP and Caroline Blay of UNHCR.

WATERFRONT Airport Hotel and Casino housed some of the international volunteers who came to help the victims of typhoon Yolanda.

Right after the typhoon hit Tacloban and other neighboring provinces last Nov. 8, several groups from different countries rushed to the Philippines to give aid in various ways.

The hotel organized an Appreciation Party for the international volunteers last Dec. 17. The room was filled with men in uniform from the Royal Australian Air Force, Australian Army and Navy. Also present were groups from HKL Logistics, Unicef, UNHCR and World Food Programme.

Team leaders and representatives from each organization shared some of their experiences during their stay in the country.
