Fundraising overdrive in San Francisco, California
VISAYANS, among them a good number of Cebuanos, gathered in the San Francisco Bay Area in California to raise funds for Typhoon Yolanda survivors.
The Nov. 24 fundraising organized by Marie Anne Malinao, in collaboration with George and Frances Lacson, was capped by a night of live music, raffle, art auction and good friends having a great, meaningful time.
Among the performers at the 50 Mason Social House were the funk jazz band The George Lacson Project, all-Visayan band Roads of Water, and Cebuano singer Jasmine Pritchard. They are now based in San Francisco.
The organizers extend their special thanks to Golda King, Ted Penabella, Trish Quema, Christopher La Chica, Dennis Gaona of Philippine Airlines, and Jay Aldeguer and Island Souvenirs for the shirts.
