PEUGEOT executives recently hosted the Philippine Business Mission at its downtown headquarters and main showroom in France, where they unveiled the new Puegeot 308.

The Philippine Business Mission, according to a press statment, was led by Finance Secretary Cesar Purisima, Philippine-France Business Council chairman Anton Huang, National Competitiveness Council co-chairman Guillermo Luz Jr., and Makati Business Club executive director Peter Angelo Perfecto.

On its international website, the French carmaker says the new Peugeot 308 “reveals a very refined design that marks a new departure in the automotive world.”

“With its crisp lines, precise styling and slimline, athletic appeal, the Peugeot 308 embodies efficiency and grace,” “the company adds. “This is a car that promises to be at one with the driver, to thrill the senses.

Sleek, high-tech and sophisticated, the new 308 boasts a fresh design in which no detail has been overlooked.”

Bearing in mind new aerodynamic styling, innovative, lightweight materials, and power steering, Peugeot reportedly designed a car that is 140 kg lighter than its predecessor — all these combine to achieve low CO2 emissions (under 82 g/km).

In short, the new Peugeot 308 design offers a blend of high-end performance both on the road and with regard to the environment.

The Peugeot i-Cockpit, the company says, enhances the driver’s experience behind the wheel. With a small steering wheel, a sleek head-up display, a large 9.7-inch touchscreen and a high center console, the driver gains access to a full range of controls, thereby increasing safety on the road.

Plus, the interior has a cosy, refined feel to it, a pleasure for both driver and passengers.

The company’s international website points out that the new 308 is not yet available in the country, but with the recent visit of Philippine Peugeot executives in France, the model is expected to grace Philippine roads soon.

Peugeot, which is one of the brands under the Gateway Motors Group, has showrooms on Ouano Ave., North Reclamation Area in Mandaue City and at SM City Cebu. (With PR)
